Minecraft Head Mask Costumes

Minecraft Masks

Enderman and Creeper Mask
Boxes on ThinkGeek!
The Easiest Halloween costume ever!

If you're looking for an awesome, easy, and super recognisable convention or Halloween costume, then these mask-head-box-costume-things are perfect. At least if you play Minecraft.

Officially licenced, they're exact, life scale replicas of the iconically pixelated mobs from the award winning game.

Now, don't get your expectations too high - these are basically cardboard boxes. You could make them at home (if you had a lot of patience and a big ruler). But they are officially licenced, accurate replicas, and would be pretty fiddly to make yourself.

I have seen them in real life, at a local convention, and they stood out really well in the crowd, were really easy to move around in, and the people wearing them were obviously having a lot of fun. They also lasted at least a couple of days, as I saw them more than once over that time.

Reasons to buy these:

  • Instantly recognisable
A photo I took of one of the
    Minecraft cosplayers at the convention.
    He's using a cardboard
    pickaxe, which was cool, but
not as cool - or durable - as the foam version
  • Easiest costume ever
  • You don't have to look at their face all night (please ignore this if you're the one getting the mask)
  • Can be used to hold other gifts
  • Officially licensed and accurate

Quick Details

  • Each box is 12 inches square (35 cm)
  • Characters (to date) are Steve, an Enderman and an Creeper
    • Steve is the generic player character,
    • Creepers are the most well known and iconic enemies that explode on people
    • Endermen are creepy, mysterious, creatures that don't like being looked at
  • Yes, they have eye holes. It would be pretty funny if they didn't, though.
  • And a sort of internal neckrest thing to keep them on.
  • Estimated price: US$19.99
What To Do With Them

You could stage epic battles in which the Steve costume runs away screaming from the other two, or just disguise yourself as a creeper and go threaten your mate's stuff.

The creeper, a blocky, green-pixeled creature, is unique to Minecraft - and its most fearsome threat! Every player has had to hide, run from and fight these creatures at some point - not only are they fast, but they blow up, which is practically cheating!

It's also the most popular reference on the Minecraft t-shirts. Learn to hiss and bounce along, lurk in dark corners and memorise the line "That's a nice everything you have there. It'd be a shame if something happened to it..."

So dress in green, put on your Minecraft Creeper Head and go scare the crap out of gamers.
